  The watchtower is making some dangerous enemies

  this weekend i spent time with a friend that i haven't seen since high school,that would be 22 years.he grew up the same way i did being a born in.he and i both received our share of beatings related to the wt org coming to the hall without a song book not getting a comment low hours in field service etc....where we differ is the fact that his stepdad was beating him with his fist i got the belt or a stick.he would come to school with black eyes due to his infractions with the hall.after we left schoo we lost touch since he was still living at home an going to the meetings and i wasn't, kicked out at 17 so that ending my time with the org.he stayed at home until 21 still getting his fair share of beatings due to any sort of failing that had to do with the org.he left after one beating and joined the marines,he was dfed.while in the marines he told me he asked an got sniper training becoming a deadly shot,he also told me he always volunteered for the most dangerous missions.i can see that he was doing this to escape the pain of his upbringing even to his subconscious mind secrectly hoping to die on one of these missions.he tells me he has some sort of nerve disability that will progress until he cant walk,he has hearing loss due to a grenade going off by his head'he knows one day he will be in a wheelchair disabled it's only a matter of time.he hasn't spoke to his mother and his family in over 20 years they care nothing about him not even returning the calls he leaves on there answering machine,he told me he calls once a month for the past 20 years.sitting here at my house he says out of the clear blue you know i've thought a lot about going to brooklyn and with the skills i have i could do a lot of damage to those men that have ruined my life.i talked him out of it i think,i told him about this site where he could come to vent,because i think he needs to vent badly.i don't know what will happen to him when he is told his quality of life will get worse and if he will revisit the idea of lashing out at what he thinks has ruin his life,i don't know what he will do and even though i think i talked him out of doing anything,can i really say i blame him.i'm in the same boat my family is fractured broken all because of some men,men in brooklyn that hold more control over my family than i can,i wonder do thay ever think about the countless people that they affect with there shunning methods how many broken families they leave in there wake.i will say one thing there are many others out there that think the way my friend does i feel it's only a matter of time before karma comes a knocking..

  Hi hon....I'm sorry for your stressful situation and depression I can totally relate and things do work out check 4 pm..

  Don't look at the big picture.....it's way too overwhelming and scary......think your plan through and take baby steps......one day at a time.....one step at a time to get to where it is you want to be.......you'll get there......

  Life is not perfect but your changes will be a step toward a happier life....

  Irony of Ironies: THE WATCHTOWER WILL END LONG BEFORE THE WORLD DOES!

  i was recently acquainted with the exhaustive - and blatantly inaccurate and crazy - theorizing by a "dr thomas", the "founder" of the christadelphians.. he was an earlier "contemporary" of chuck russell - and some have accused russell of "stealing" the christadelphians main teachings.

  they're probably correct in their accusation.

  christadelphians do not believe in the trinity or hellfire, are conscientious objectors who do not vote and who hate catholicism and are scathing in their views of christendom - although like all "decent" religious groups, jws included, have toned down their rabid attacks on other religious groups in recent decades.. dr thomas's quaint - and hilariously self-important - interpretation of scripture, led him on several occasions to predict the end of the world in his own day.

  I wonder what the numbers are for people who have left/leaving vs new ones? Increased numbers really wouldn't be authenic.

  I'm guessing the only thing holding the WTS together is the newer ones not familiar with WTS history. If the increase is limited to these new ones I see near future erosion. Older ones are dying off and their families are realizing the end has not arrived.

  Also, if doctrine continues to change I see further decline. Just from JWN Generation doctrine threads many have left.

  The internet has also brought decline and will continue to do so. Many are learning TTATT.

  Donations have declined. It seems WTS investments and real estate is keeping them a float.

  Continued huge child molestation lawsuits/payouts is more money siphoned.

  Other continued lawsuits. More money siphoned.

  Other religions are growing with attractive doctrines. Reincarnation. RCC/50 Hail Marys. Just believe in the Lord and you will be saved. WTS offers an end times dead line.

  pming other members of this site asking for money is unacceptable and will not be tollerated under any circumstances, especially if it seems like you are targeting someone who seems to be especially kind and maybe a little old.

  that is low.. if you do this, you will be classified as a scammer and your account deleted.

  i don't care what the reasons given are.. if someone offers money then fine although i'd warn anyone against falling for sob-stories they read on the internet.

  last week a friend of mine contacted me out of the blue asking if we could have lunch together.

  my friend has been studing with the jw's on and off for about 11-12 years i think.

  she has told me everytime i see her that she can't wait for jehovah to end this evil world...she can't wait for the new system...the end is so close....etc.. i sent her a message back telling her that i left the jw's and asked her if she had heard that.

  When I was in, I do recall something printed that if a person is "not baptized" but considered "in good standing" by the congregation (service, study, etc.) they can be shunned by the congregation and a statement from the platform made...."Publisher so and so is not considerered in good standing" (sorry don't remember exact words)........

  On the other hand. If a parent has a child who is just not interested and they shunn them I would think that's more of a personal matter/decision. I don't recall anything printed of that nature.

  first time in 4 years any of them have come to my door.

  Freeminds 2.0 has launched

  today we are launching freeminds2.org.

  this is stage 3 of a three part project spanning over 30 years since i left watchtower headquarters in 1980 and gave the 18 members of the then-governing body, including president nathan knorr and vice-president frederick w. franz.. the new site will be more blog/news oriented (and updated more often with articles, blogs and videos almost daily).. all of our previous sites, such as armageddonokies.com and watchtowerworld.org, randytv.com, exjws.net, and others will be incorporated into the previous freeminds site, which is currently being revised and converted from its joomla-based format to this wordpress format.

  i am sure you will find it much easier to search for words, people, articles, and subject very easy.
